Find Free Ringtones

Can You Really Get a Free Alltel Ringtone?

Today one of the most important decisions anyone makes is which cell phone network they sign with, and Alltel is one of the best you can choose, with a great service and many free ringtone options.

Alltel's logo is "come and get your love," but perhaps it should be "come and get free ring tones," because there are hundreds if not thousands of free Alltell ringtone.

Of course you're Alltel cell phone comes standard with a few basic ringtones.  But most people want to customize their phone and experiment with different ringtones to find one that expresses their personality, and really sets them apart.  This is not only fun for the phone owner, it is also a practical necessity because everyone has a cell phone these days, and if we did not use custom, unique ringtones, it could quickly become very confusing when someone's phone rang in a crowded office, for example.

Having your own unique ringtone sound helps to identify your phone no matter where you may be.  And besides this practical concern, who really wants to use a cell phone with the standard Alltel ringtone?  This shows no creativity or originality on the part of the individual.

But luckily, it very easy to find a free ringtone for your Alltel phone.  To get started, simply try searching online for Alltel + ringtone.  You will quickly find that there are many web sites offering a free ringtone which is compatible with your Alltel cell phone.

One word of warning though: some web sites will offer a "free ringtone" but in fact are misleading the user into subscribing to a monthly service which can cost from $3-$20 per month.  That certainly doesn't sound like a free offer to me!  As a general rule, if a web site asks you to sign up for a "trial membership" of some type, it is unlikely that their ringtones will turn out to be free.

Some web sites are claiming to offer one or more free ringtones for Alltel phones as a special promotion, but in reality you must pay for a subscription to actually get the ringtones.  For example, dadamobile.com has a promotion offering 10 free ringtones that are compatible with Alltel phones. But when you read the fine print, you will find that you must subscribe to a service which costs $9.99 per month!

So even if a company offers 100% free ringtones, you cannot be certain there are no hidden charges.  Another example of this is a company called, ironically, "100% free ringtones."  This company is essentially offering the same type of subscription charge as the example above, except that 100% free ringtones requires the user to sign up for a so-called "text alert club" for a price of $5.99 per week.  But that's not even the worst part!  Besides the questionable "text alert club," the user must also pay a $9.99 subscription fee every single month, bringing the total cost of these so-called free ringtones to roughly 35 dollars per month!

But despite the scammy "free ringtone" web sites, there are also legitimate places to download a free ringtone for your Alltel cell.  Check out cellphones.about.com for a list of truly free ringtones, without all the hyped-up subscription nonsense.

Using sites like this, you can easily find a list of legitimate companies that are offering a free Alltell ringtone, without having to worry about being tricked into signing some nonsense subscription agreement.
