Too Cool for Words: a Free US Cellular
Ringtone
If you do a little bit of research (like reading this
article!) it becomes a very simple thing to find a free
US cellular ringtone. But first, why would you want
one anyways, other than the fact that it would be free? Good
question.
Getting a free ringtone is actually quite easy to do if you
live in the United States - since most free ringtone offers are
only available here. There are a few international offers and
companies, but in this author's experience your best bet is a
US company for a freebie. Why is this? Because chances are if
you live in the United States, you're more than likely
interested in getting ringtones from artists popular in the
states. Local companies are more likely to have what you're
looking for, whereas international companies might not have as
good of a selection when it comes to American artists and
bands.
Getting a free ringtone is a great idea because it allows
you to test out the company that you're getting the free
ringtone from - that way you'll know if you'd like to purchase
more ringtones from them in the future. Chances are if they
provide you with a good, high quality ringtone for free as a
"test run" of sorts, you'll be more likely to use them again in
the future. Makes sense, doesn't it?
The first thing you're going to want to check is whether or
not your carrier (phone service provider) is supported by the
ringtone offer - such as Cingular, Verizon, T-Mobil, etc. Then
make sure your phone is capable of playing realtones, otherwise
known as truetones or mp3 ringtones. If your phone is properly
advanced enough to do so, make sure that the brand of phone you
have is applicable to the ringtone offer. Once you've confirmed
that all these things are good to go, then you're all set. It's
time to get your free US ringtone!
Things you'll want to look for after receiving your free
ringtone are the basics of what makes a ringtone good. How does
it sound? Is it of high quality? Does it work properly on your
phone? If you followed the basic procedure of entering your
number, getting a PIN via SMS, and then entering the PIN, how
easy was this process? How quickly was the PIN sent via SMS?
Once you found and selected the ringtone you wanted, was it
quickly sent to your phone, or did it take ages? Was your phone
supported on the site with technical support information or a
FAQ (frequently asked questions) page available? What was the
customer service like, if any? These are all good questions to
ask, because you want to be sure you like the company before
you start buying other ringtones from them.
Getting a free ringtone is a great way to test out a company
before starting a long term ringtone-downloading relationship
with them. So now that you're armed with the knowledge of how
to get a free US cellular ringtone and why
it's a good idea, go out and get your phone to start ringing
the way you want it to!
