Find the Best Real Music Ringtone
You're tired of that annoying, old-school-sounding ringtone
buzzing out of your phone - it's time to get a real
music ringtone.
Not only do they sound better, but you'll actually enjoy it
when your phone rings instead of cringing and trying to answer
it as soon as possible (you know this sounds familiar!). It's
not uncommon to see people let their phones ring a little
longer than necessary - just to enjoy their favorite
ringtone!
Most "real music" ringtones are delivered in mp3 format, so
you'll need to own a phone that can support that kind of format
- don't worry, most phones made in the past couple of years can
play them (yes, even the free ones you get with package deals
with companies like Cingular, Verizon, or T-Mobile). These
kinds of tones are often referred to as "realtones" or
"truetones." If you're unsure as to whether or not your phone
can indeed support these kinds of tones, you should be able to
find the details relatively easily by checking the manual, the
manufacturer's web site, or even just calling or dropping by
the store you purchased the phone at. To tell you the truth, if
your phone doesn't have the capability of playing mp3's or mp3
ringtones, you'll probably be better off upgrading to a newer
phone anyways.
The main motivator to switching to using an mp3 formatted
ringtone is, generally, the quality. A close runner up to
quality is, definitely, the variety available in realtones.
Nowadays, you don't have to have your ringtone shrieking out in
low quality midi format - so save yourself the annoyance! It's
definitely time to switch to a higher quality.
But perhaps you're one of the people who says, "why should I
worry about what the ring sounds like? It's just a phone. I
just want it to make noise so that I know when to pick it up."
Well, consider this. If your phone rings and annoys you,
chances are you're not going to like it very much when your
phone rings! Having an enjoyable ringtone is almost essential
for people who frequently speak on the phone (all the way from
the gossip obsessed teenager to the always-on-the-go business
person). Not only that, but it's nice to not have to be
embarrassed when your phone rings while you're in line at the
grocery store.
So where can you find real music ringtones? It's not so
hard. Some people use the included "media mall" on their phone
to shop for ringtones, but often they'll find it's difficult to
find the song or audio clip they want, or just difficult in
general to peck away at the phone to find a ringtone (which is
why this author prefers phones with full QWERTY keypads, such
as the Blackberry series). The best option for variety when
searching for ringtones is to use the internet - there are a
vast multitude of sites and reputable companies that can
deliver ringtones right to your phone from the internet. So get
out there and look around a little, you'll be listening to a
real music ringtone come out of your phone in
no time!
